I'm not going to lie. I love Mountain View but it's definitely got some flaws. If you're looking for a lot of really challenging classes to get ahead and ready for college, Mountain View probably isn't the place for you. Don't get me wrong I am definitely a college bound student and a lot of our students work really hard, but most teachers don't have the highest standards set for their students. Most Mountain View students are average. Even in my honors and AP classes there aren't a lot of really outgoing, very intelligent students. A lot of us just do our best. If there's anything I know about our student body, it's that we know what we expect of ourselves. Some of us are high achievers and will work our hardest in any class to get that A. A lot of students stay in normal classes and that's great, perfectly fine. Even though they don't move as fast as advanced classes, they still have to work hard to pull off the grade they want, and if they don't then they know what the consequences are.

A typical student at my school differs greatly from students at other schools. For one, students at my school always have something to do. Someone who is involved in lots of extracurricular activities would fit in perfectly at Mountain View, because whatever your interests are, you can be sure that someone else will share that same passion. While the typical Mountain View student is never bored, at the same time most students are team players, whether it's in class or on the field. Teachers make an effort to inspire group work and communication in their lesson plans, as the real world will require this skill. Someone who enjoys working with others to reach a common goal would succeed at Mountain View. Finally, students at Mountain View differ most from other schools because of their drive for success. Thanks to our counselors as well as our unique College and Career Center, the majority of students know what they want to do after high school, and nothing will stop them from achieving that goal. Someone who has many varied interests, enjoys working in teams, and is willing to work hard in order to succeed would be a typical student at my school, Mountain View High School.
