A student who would attend Palmer High School would be a person willing to be in a community of students who are willing to be accepted no matter what they look like or whether or not their gay, straight, or other. "​​​​​General William J. Palmer High School is a modest-sized secondary school located in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado. The school has a student body of approximately 1900, and attracts enrollment from all over the city. The flagship high school of School District 11, Palmer has the oldest International Baccalaureate (IB) program in the area, founded in 1993. Palmer is located at 301 North Nevada Avenue in Colorado Springs. The present building was built by the Works Progress Administration under Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1940. Any student should attend Palmer. At Palmer we have a very diverse set of students, whether its race, religion,or interest, anybody can find a place/ group of friends at Palmer.

Students at Palmer High School should be looking for a good quality education in a small school setting. The teachers get to know you on a personal basis and help you achieve your goals and often go out of their way to do so. A student should also enjoy being the part of a close "family" with all students and staff of the school as well as the community.
