There are no students who should not attend Carlmont High School. Our school is very inclusive. However, if there must be a type of student who should not attend, it would have to be the type that is prone to violence. If they are tempted to bring a weapon on campus they do not belong here, as they do not belong on most educational campuses. However, there are platforms through which people can deal with their violence and anger management outside of campus. Once there has been a change in attitude, they can come back and be successful, if that's what they want to be.

With a growing student population of over 2100, Carlmont High School may not be suitable for a student who prefers a smaller size campus. Likewise, as it is a public school and heavily impacted by budget cuts, class sizes are becoming larger (35+ in certain classes) and would not be best for students who would want more 1-on-1 help from a teacher. However, I do not believe that there is a particular sort of student who should not attend Carlmont. The resources and opportunities available at Carlmont are only worthwhile if they are best utilized by the students.
