Student, Sebastian River High School, Class of 2017,
A student who should not attend SRHS would be a student that has no interest in their academic progress, and does not desire to contribute to their school community. The teachers at Sebastian River are greatly involved with students, and there are opportunities for every student, standard or advanced. If a student has no interest in utilizing the resources that are offered at the school, they would not benefit from attending SRHS. Additionally, much of the school's activities are student-based. While the clubs are all supervised by a teacher or staff member, most of the clubs at the school are student-organized and student-run, and the variety increases every year as more students get involved. There are also many programs that involve community activities, such as the volunteering required by the IB program, community performances by the band, choir, and drama troupe, and community outreach events by clubs and sports teams. If a student is not interested in taking part of any of these, they will not benefit from attending SRHS as much as they could.
