As an athlete at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, I do see more of an athletic affiliation to the school from the students that attend there. As a Division 1 school, these young men and women are nothing but focused not only on being athletically talented, but academically, since coaches and NCAA regulations require certain GPA's to be maintained. My sister who attends UMass Lowell is not on a sports team, yet is one of the most intelligent and successful nursing students I know. I believe anyone who attends UMass Lowell, athlete or non-athlete, needs to have that determination to be great at whatever they are pursuing. Students who enroll in college obviously have dreams and goals they wish to obtain and at UMass Lowell, the curriculum is ever growing into something more stronger and knowledgeable that help these aspiring students get closer to their dreams. The bottom line is, anyone who has perserverance to be as successful as they wish to be, should attend UMass Lowell. Already, due to the higher application rates as the years pass, the school, itself, is constantly getting renovated, being made into a bigger and better university for students to really feel welcomed and open minded to.
