Centennial isn't a very good school in general. Most students are in gangs or only attend because they are forced to. The type of person that should attend Centennial would be someone who does not really care about their education. At the same time someone who wants a challenege in their learning experience would also attend Centennial.

The typical Centennial student is hardworking and ambitious about his or her academic and career goals, but also emotionally cognizant and caring of the people around him or her. If a person wants to attend Centennial, he or she should be academically driven and willing to balance grades and extracurriculars with a fairly filled weekly schedule. But at the same time, he or she should be willing to be that person who helps picks up the folder papers that someone accidentally dropped in the hallway.

The type of person that goes to Centennial High School is one of two types. You are either a honors kid or a non-honors kid. There is a definite line between the two groups. Unfortunately, the two rarely mix. There is no real opportunity to mix and mingle. For example, as bad as it sounds, my only friends are in the "honors group".

Centennial is located in a very diverse part of Bakersfield. We have students that come from the tiny apartments and we have students that come from the house like mansions along the lakes. But no matter the background, we are passionate. The reason we have so many clubs and teams is because we want them. None of us are afraid to ask for what we want. And we if don't get it, we keep working until we do. We are driven by a desire to create a better Centennial. And we do.

The typical Centennial High School student to me is someone who is an all-around driven student. What I mean by that is the students at Centennial are eager to learn. They are prepared for each and every class they attend with the thought that being in class will better themselves as a student and as a person in the community. They have the mindset that they are college bound. They are well organized, respectful to staff and other students, helpful to other classmates and they have determination to achieve higher education. Centennial students also engage in extracircular activities. They have the ability to stay focused on their educational goals while integrating social clubs and sports. I feel that Centennial High School has some of the best students around and I am honored to be one of them.
