Student, Salem High School, Class of 2016,
I would have to say that the varsity football team, the National Honors Society, and the Filipino-American Cultural Society are the most popular extracurricular activities at my school. The football team has gone on to the state playoffs numerous times in the past few years and always receives amazing support from everyone at school. The National Honors Society is a huge part of my school because they are always looking for more people to join and for volunteers to join in the many community service events they put on throughout the year. Everyone at school always looks forward to seeing what the Filipino-American Cultural Society is up to because they always put on a fantastic story-telling show every single year. Many students at Salem have roots in the Philippines as well, so the club is always talked about around school. The three activities mentioned above are definitely activities I would recommend because they all make sure that everyone is included in their activities, but those are not the only ones I would recommend. I would also recommend activities like marching band. I am in the marching band and we have built a great community within the band that is unlike anything else I've seen. It is something that is really fun to do and if you commit can lead to amazing awards.
