Student, Sequoia High School, Class of 2016,
A typical Sequoia student is someone who goes out of his or her way to help others. From academics to socially, students at Sequoia are always looking out for others. Every year, Sequoia kids open their arms wide for incoming freshman, who are always full of questions. I know that when I came to Sequoia as a freshman, I always got lost, and there was always someone else to help me get to my classes. Furthermore, a Sequoia High School student is glowing with school-spirit. Every Friday is "Purple Friday," where the student body is covered in head-to-toe purple gear. At every sports event, there are students there to cheer on the Sequoia sports team, whether its basketball or football or badminton. Finally, there is no way to group Sequoia's students as a whole: we are extremely diverse. However, this is what makes us who we are. We all bring our different backgrounds and our opinions to the table, in order to make Sequoia a better place for everyone. Even our school's motto is "Unaliyi"- or "a place of friends."
