For fun, students at the University of Michigan often go out to parties on Friday and Saturday nights. Although our school is well known for its academics, students at this University know how to let loose and have fun when we are not overwhelmed with mid-terms and finals. Another thing that students at the University of Michigan do for fun is join clubs. There are multiple clubs suitable for our diverse population of students. Joining a club is a quick and easy way to have fun, and feel at home creating bonds with other students who share similar passions as you. Lastly, sporting events, football in particular, are a great way to have fun at the University of Michigan. Tailgating before football games is almost just as exciting as the football game itself. There is so much team spirit in the air that you cannot help but let loose and have fun, whether you are a football fan or not.

I believe people love to go to Umix on late friday nights if they just want free food, a study break and to have fun. Another leading activity has to be the football games! Not only that, but when it's time to eat and at a more affordable price, people lovvvve restaurant week.=)
The top 3 things students do for fun at the University of Michigan are hang out with friends, exercise or hang out in the Arboretum and going to parties.
1) Join clubs! Lots of students join one (or a few!) of the tons of clubs we have to offer. Anything from horseback riding, to dance, to a capella, we have it. 2) Go to the diag! Especially at the beginning of the fall term when the weather is beautiful, students meet up on the diag on central campus to play frisbee, read, or lay in hammocks. 3) Go to the arboretum! Also known as "The Arb", students can walk around the forested area or study and relax.
Going to the "Big House" on Saturdays for our exciting football games (as well as enjoying the lively atmosphere of the tailgating activities before the game), going to UMMA to experience world renowned art and sculptures from all over the world, and enjoying theatrical entertainment at one of our many theaters where the students at The University of Michigan perform for large audiences. These experiences are just some of the few ways that students at the University of Michigan spend their free time between the amazing classes offered by the University, and one of the best places to attend school in the country!
The top three things students do for fun at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor are mediating in the Arb, walking through the "maize and blue ocean" every game day to the Big House, and relaxing in the Diag.
The top three things that students do for fun at the University of Michigan are tailgating for football games, going to parties, and joining clubs.
1) Being in the presence of hundreds of thousands of fellow wolverines that are all gathered in an overcrowded stadium for one purpose: to cheer on the distinguished football team.
2) Eventually, a wolverine will spend one of his or her late nights wandering the streets of Ann Arbor, eventually running across a small restaurant with a leprechaun on top with a sign reading "Insomnia Cookies." Being the curious wolverines that they are, they will enter said restaurants and will immediately fall in love. They have found a restaurant designated specifically for cookies; one that provides them with the warm, sticky feeling of chocolate chips sticking to the roof of your mouth at whatever hour of the day they crave it.
3) After a long day of studying, many wolverines choose to wind down by spending a Thursday night in the dorms, visiting a friend that has a television and game console, and contending for the rest of the night.
Students like to go out to parties, go to plays or shows put on by their fellow students, or just hang out with their friends. Ann Arbor is kind of a foodie city so it's always fun to go out to dinner or just to get ice cream and spend time with your friends.

Ann Arbor is full of opportunities for students to escape the classroom and not worry about homework for a little while. My top three things to do, which most students would probably agree with me on, and listed in no specific order, are to go out to eat at a new restaurant in the city, walk around campus or through Nichols Arboretum, or use the public parks, courts, and fields for pick-up sports.
Cheer on our football team through the best of times and the worst of times, dance like nobody's watching, and spend time on our beautiful campus!
A lot of students enjoy competing in intramural sports. Depending on the skill level, you can either play basketball with casual players or compete in intense 5v5 in ultimate frisbee. However, the second most popular activity to participate in are going to the football games. The games are amazing, if you disregard this past year with our terrible record. The first most popular fun event are the tailgates. The closer you get to the Big House, the crazier the frat parties get and the more people you get to interact and meet. I've partied with a lot of people my first semester at Michigan and I still hangout with them today. The Michigan tailgates was a great way for me to feel comfortable meeting new people.
A lot of students participate in rushing and greeklife, marching band/orchestra, and various clubs and intramural sports.

If you walk down the street on a Saturday during the Fall semester, you would be able to hear exactly what the students do for fun. Along State street, there is a pre-game party going on at almost every house nearing the Football Stadium.
