NYU is an incredibly competitive school. Especially, their Film and Screenwriting program. The program in which I hope I get the honors to be a part of. I believe the students that grace the halls of this wonderful institution are students who are autonomous, leader in their own right, have a strong internal locus of focus, and have a passion for innovation and ingenuity. I strongly believe that these students should have the qualities that I have mentioned above because there is no way that a school like NYU would waste their time accepting students who cannot uphold the tight standards that their school exudes.

People with no interest in higher education, socializing, or taking part in NYU events. The events one attends do not have to be necessarily sports related, however, its best to create your own suitable atmosphere and be more responsible in regards to that. Whether it's staying indoors studying or going to a club related or nyu sports related event, there are a variety of activities at NYU. So, make your own atmosphere.

The type of student who should not attend New York University is a person unwilling to embrace change and diversity. NYU has managed to acquire every kind of student imaginable from every part of the world, and with this many new cultures and perspectives, it is impossible to remain completely stagnant in your ways; someone, somewhere, or something will inspire you, transfigure you, whether it be in incredible ways or only slightly. A student who is not ready to embrace this potential change or at least consider it, will most likely not thrive here.

If you want a small university and a typical campus, NYU is not for you. It's practically impossible to know everyone in a class of five thousand people. NYU does not have a campus, it owns buildings scattered around Washington Square Park. If you want to take multiple-choice tests and be able to skip class, NYU is not for you. Most courses are writing-based and the small class sizes make it impossible for your professor not to notice your absence. If you want to be able to go to avoid studying and party on weekdays yet still pull off a 4.0, NYU is not for you. Do you look forward to tailgates and rooting for your college football team? Well, NYU is division 3 and does not have a football team, so if you're big into sports, consider life without them before coming here. On your walk to class, you won't only be surrounded by NYU students, you will be on the streets of New York passing people who are trying to get to work. When NYU students step foot on New York City pavement the first day of their freshman year, it is not only the start of their college career, it's the start of their life. If you are not prepared for this, don't come to NYU.
