The New York City Department of Education releases information regarding English Language Arts Scores. In the 2010-2011 school year, 41.3% of students (averaged over all grades) scored a level 3 or level 4 on the English Language Arts (ELA) examinations. In the 2011-2012 school year, the percentage of students scoring a level 3 or 4 is as follows: 3rd graders: 29.5% 4th graders: 35.4% 5th graders: 25.6 %
In comparison to other peer schools and city schools at large, PS 20 Anna Silver scored 30% in English and 52.5% in Mathematics.
The 2011-2012 NYC DOE progress report card shows that this school scored a "D" on Student Performance based on state test results in English and Math with a "C" Overall Report Grade.
