The University of Arkansas is a very Greek Life oriented school, many students attend different Greek Life events. Even if students are not part of Greek Life there are many things to do. Many students go hiking on the weekends or spend their afternoons at the park. Students also attend many sporting events, especially football. No matter what students are interested in there will be something for them to do.

The University of Arkansas is surrounded by beautiful nature so one of the main things that students do around here is outdoor sports, like hiking and kayaking. Just off of campus is the heart of Fayetteville, Dickson Street. Many students like to frequent Dickson on their free nights and weekends because of all of the locally owned shops, restaurants, and bars. Dickson Street is also well known for being the center for Fayetteville arts. This leads me to the third thing that University of Arkansas students like to do, and that is watch live performances. Whether that be concerts, street artists, or plays, they always attract large crowds.

Friday Night Live is an event on campus. Friday Night Live is an event held each month with free food, games, movies, local entertainers, and lots of cool events. Razorback football games are the place to be. If you haven't been to a game, your definitely missing out. There are always local concerts to attend. Several local venues offer a variety of music for all tastes.

At The University Of Arkansas, we pride ourselves in our high academic excellence as well as our favorite past time: good old fashioned football! The University Of Arkansas hosts tons of free events such as "beginning of school meet and greet" which provided loads of free food and giveaways while allowing students to meet each other! In my short time here, I have witnessed countless events such as the Promfret Lua (a student housing district that put on a cookout/"lua" for the students to get out and socialize), a Friday night carnival equipped with a bounce house and sno cone line, and numerous cookouts on the lawn. As a freshman Razorback, It is no surprise that football is a crazed phenomenon in Fayettville! Students at The U Of A take so much pride in their sports and go to what seems to be every home football game to cheer on their fellow Razorbacks. I can only begin to name all the events that U of A hosts for their students!

The number one thing students at the University of Arkansas do for fun is attend Razorback sporting events. The football and volleyball games are popular in the fall semesters. In the winter and spring months, students will attend gymnastic meets, basketball and baseball games. The second thing college students do for fun is attend the local farmer's market. Every Saturday is the local farmer's market in the city square downtown. College students will attend and check out the local, cheap produce offered by families in the Northwest Arkansas area. The third activity college students do for fun is go out to eat at the local restaurants in the area. We have many locally owned eateries that cater specifically to college students' needs, which means they are fun yet affordable!

When it comes to The University of Arkansas there are always fun ways to get involved or do outside of school. First and foremost is students LOVE to go to athletic events and cheer for their razorbacks. Whether it's football, basketball, or even gymnastics you can be assured the event will be packed and the razorback fans will be cheering with everything they've got. This included dressing up in Arkansas colored clothes, using face paint, and always making sure that the cheers from the opposition are drowned out.

Secondly, a lot of student will go to Dickson St. after a game or on the weekends. For the older students there's plenty of bars to choose from. For the younger students, there are restaurants, a hookah bar, and other fun places to hang out. The best part? It's a short walk from the University.

Lastly, for a more relaxing time there are a lot of outdoor activities available around Fayetteville. The most popular is a state park just south of campus called "Devils Den." Ironically Devils Den has beautiful views, and great hiking trails. There are caves as well containing bats. Currently they're closed to prevent the bats from getting sick, but if a visitor's lucky they'll get to go inside of of these little caverns of awe.
