  1. You are in the beautiful city of San Francisco so, if you get bored, that is your problem!
  2. If you have a niche for social justice, this is your school!
  3. Interacting with a diverse group of students is a plus.

It is a challenging environment because there seems to be "figure it out on your own" vibe from the instructors, which can teach self reliance. Another reason is the diversity of both the school and the surrounding area. There is so much to absorb and learn about other cultures and ways of life. Finally, the real-life experience of the instructors. All of my music teachers have decades of gigging and practical experience and are passing down more than just "book-smarts" to their students.

The first would have to be its professors. I've met some of the best professors at San Francisco State--they have all been extremely passionate about their work and many of them take this passion back to their own communities. The second reason everyone should join San Francisco State is its diversity. There are students from all different backgrounds at this school, it's truly amazing to be able to witness so many perspectives. The last but not least would have to be the location. Though San Francisco is currently one of the most expensive cities to live in, it is also one of the best. The culture is rich, the party is never ending, and the people are so welcoming.

Also, the people are really nice, no one really judges you and they are really outgoing and ready to take on any adventure. Lastly the teacher really know what they are teaching and doing. Everyone has their reasons why people should attended but these are mine and for me it matters a lot on the environment. It is hard to find schools that have that as a degree because it is so specific. Another reason is because I absolutely in love with the city of San Francisco. I live in a really small city from Arizona so it will be life changing to move to a big city. The third reason would be to meet new people.

I applied for three reasons: 1) They have one of the best MSW programs in the state. 2) It is in a city that has a great need in the social service field, and I wanted to study and intern close to where I one day hope to be working. 3) I heard and read of their close-knit supportive community of students and staff. I graduated from a small school and loved the manageable class sizes where most members of a class could get to know one another and the ability to connect with my professors. I look forward to a similar experience with San Francisco State.

The city The liberal city The open-minds The various organizations located throughout the city

I would not recommend students who are looking for personal attention to come here. I always received personal attention in high school but this was not the case in college. The classes are just too big.
