A typical OU student is mostly very outgoing, has a multitude of pride for their school, is very passionate about their studies. In high school they were very focused, and if they were anything like me, they were very excited to graduate high school and go to OU.

There is no typical person that attends OU. Many of the students, as can be expected, are from surrounding Oklahoma cities and towns. However, you have all types: athletes, preppy/Greek, National merit scholars, hipsters, and everything in between.

The typical student is a standout from the southwest of the United States. Mostly from Oklahoma and Northern Texas, the students face rigorous competition just to get into a state college. Their aspirations range from sports medicine, to biological engineering, to public relations, and even Astrophysics like me. Their extra curricular activities in high school typically do not cease as they continue on and get stronger at the University. They are typically well rounded and ready to be taught.
