Yes, the University of California Santa Barbara has different advising programs for students in the College of Engineering and in the College of Letters and Science. If you have basic questions about degree requirements, choosing a major or a career, or navigating the academic system, you can schedule an appointment with one of several advisors on staff. You can see the list of academic advisors for the engineering school here — each covers a field within engineering. For the College of Letters and Science, you can make an appointment through your student account.

When you declare a major, most departments will assign you an advisor, too, who can guide you in research decisions and course selection. How this advising is structured varies from department to department, but you can ask at the physical location of the departmental office.
