The typical student at Grand Valley is a hard worker and looks to expand their mental horizons and critical thinking capabilities by challenging the way they had previously thought and to question what is presented to them. The student is committed, devoted to their studies and extra-curricular activities, and kind and thoughtful of their fellow classmates. We are dutiful and dedicated to the clubs, classes and other commitments taken on. The type of person that should attend Grand Valley State University is someone that wants to expand their critical thinking capabilities, want to attend a college where the teachers take genuine and one-to-one time and help to provide the best help possible to see that the student achieves the greatest success in their classes. A person that wants to feel a great sense of community within their school should attend Grand Valley State University where acts of kindness and thoughtfulness can be seen daily on campus in classmates helping each other out with directions, including one another during lunch, and the simple acts like holding a door open or helping someone that has slipped on ice (which is a very common occurrence during the Michigan winter months).
