Describe the type of student who should attend University of Pennsylvania. Why?

Inquisitive and motivated students should attend the University of Pennsylvania. The school is an Ivy League college, and certainly has a formidable reputation for excellent academics, but as it is becoming increasingly clear as many colleges are putting less weight on standardized tests and grades, and looking at students as a whole of their experiences and contributions, it is really not enough to say that students should simply be "good." The world exists outside the classroom, and the value of motivated people with the integrity and tenacity to take on larger projects and challenge themselves beyond the confines of a classroom are incredibly important to the future prestige and success of universities everywhere. As I am starting my graduate education at University of Pennsylvania in the fall term, I am thrilled to know that my fellow classmates will be accomplished leaders inside and outside of the classroom and be excellent peers through the duration of my master's program and colleagues after we graduate.

I am attending the School of Veterinary Medicine at University of Pennsylvania in the fall of 2016. Veterinary students need to be extremely dedicated to the profession. The admission process is highly selective, even harder than medical school, and the tuition is just as high. Students need to be willing to put in long and tedious hours of studying and willing to take on the financial burden. Unlike other health professionals, veterinarians do not have salaries that allow for a quick student loan pay-off. Most importantly, veterinary students need to be compassionate and understanding. Veterinarians deal with not only the patients, but also the owners. There is a large spectrum of financial willingness to treat among owners for their animals, so veterinarians must be understanding and non-judgmental, willing to work with the owners to find a treatment plan that works for them.

Students who attend the University of Pennsylvania should be driven and focused on their future goals and how furthering education will prepare them for a desired profession.
