The three most popular extracurricular activities at GHS are band, speech, and football. Band is extremely popular- out of the 400 students in our school, almost 150 students are in band. This is mainly because of the awesome band teacher and pep band. Who doesn't want to be a band nerd? Speech is popular because you are able to make groups with your friends, and compete in contests. Football is not only popular because a lot of guys go out to play, but because the entire community takes part in Friday Night Lights. Parents, teachers, people living in Gilbert, and especially students fill up our stadium every Friday Night to cheer on our boys. I would definitely recommend speech. Right now, I am in an ensemble group with 13 other of my friends, and it is one of the highlights of my year. Practices are hilarious, and I get to spend time with all my friends. The contests are rewarding because you get to see all your work come together. Plus, speech takes place during the winter, so you can actually have something to do when the temperature is lower than Antarctica.

Cross country, football, and choir/band. I would recommend cross country, choir or band, soccer, and FCA. They are great things to be apart of!
