-If you have parents that are Christian fanatics and they want you to gain no exposure to diversity / the real world. -If you feel like you are not ready for a real college, and would rather have a high school- like environment. -If you think going to school should be more about religion than academics.

The top three reasons is that the college is located in Seattle which means the big city has lots to offer. Another reason is that the school is a christian college. The student will be surrounded by like minded individuals as well as professors who tie in Christianity to their study. The last reason is that the school has over 60 majors to choose from.

Seattle Pacific University is a small school with just under four thousand undergraduates which allows classroom sizes to be small and intimate, giving students a one-on-one opportunity for them to receive extra help on assignments, preparing for tests, and just even getting to know the professors. Just walking around campus, professors and even the president will stop and say hello to students, possibly even take them out to lunch or invite them to their home. Another reason for someone to attend Seattle Pacific University is the welcoming Christian atmosphere and community. Not only is it welcoming and supportive for those who are Christians, but it is also welcoming and supportive of those who are of a different belief and the who do not have one at belief at all. Lastly, even though Seattle Pacific University is a small school, they still offer intramurals for those who want to stay active, but not enter in a long term commitment. There is also school sports that include volleyball, basketball, soccer, gymnastics, rowing, track and field, and cross country.

The school is located in north Queen Anne, one of the many diverse neighborhoods of Seattle. Though it feels like we are located in the heart of Suburbia, were are just minutes away from city life. The classes are smaller. The largest a class will every be, unless it's a seminar, is about 40 students. You guaranteed to have a professor who at least knows you name and your work. It's a small university with a lot of connections, as long as you do your homework and seek them out you have a lot of resources at hand to help you succeed after you have graduated.

Seattle Pacific University contains the strongest community I have ever been apart of. Relationships flourish, connections are made, and people are constantly pulled into new groups and positive atmospheres. Secondly, the professors at SPU are there because they love and care about each student that crosses their path, and their goal is to teach to their full ability every day. All of my professors this years have learned every students name and have offered assistance outside of lecture. They all are incredibly passionate about their subject matter. Lastly, the class sizes at Seattle Pacific allow for not only a closer relationship between the professors and students, but also create more opportunities for you to make connections with other classmates. Everything ends up revolving around community.

One reason that students should attend Seattle Pacific University is due to the fact that it’s a small, private university. Throughout my time here, I have discovered how amazing that is; I have been able to learn so much with small classroom sizes. I have also been able to develop friendships with many of my professors. What I especially love about the professors at Seattle Pacific University is how much they care for each and every student. Every professor that I’ve had so far has always written down their office hours, and have encouraged students to go in their office and talk to them if we ever need anything or if we need someone to be there for us and pray for us. To me that is astonishing to see professor’s sincerely care for every student in their class. A second reason that one would want to attend Seattle pacific university is because of all the incredible resources that are provided on campus. For instance, there are places located on campus where students can get help creating a resume, finding job internships and volunteer opportunities, finding on campus and off campus jobs, along with many other resources.
And lastly, someone should attend Seattle Pacific University is if you are passionate about what you want to pursue. Seattle Pacific University has incredible programs for all majors and minors. Because the classroom sizes are small, it is great to have caring professors that can help you succeed.

Number 1: The Peers You'll make life friends here. It's unavoidable. There are so many good human beings packed onto the SPU campus that you'll run into them everywhere you go. Smart, fun, and supportive people. Number 2: The Professors I haven't met a bad egg yet. Classes are small, so that means you get to engage directly with professors on a daily basis. Few lecture classes here: you'll get you hands dirty. They're genuinely excited to help you learn. And they're a rather eclectic, eccentric bunch. Most of them don't have a boring bone in their body. They know their stuff, they want you to know it, and if you ask you'll get it. Number 3: The Place Seattle. If you like coffee, rain, hipsters, fireplaces, good food, walks by the canal, the nightlife, or pretty much anything good in life you'll find it. And an endless number of tiny, fantastic shops, Pike's Place Market, the UW District, and the Puget Sound don't make it any worse. Culture and diversity are everywhere--whatever you're interested in. It's here. Plus, since we got rain, the air always smells clean.
