Student, Palatka High School, Class of 2016,
The question wants to know which extracurricular activities are popular. These would by far be cheerleading, football, and baseball. However, the activities I would recommend (and often do) are swimming, the High Q team, and the recently dissolved Creative Writing Club. The swim team has been a huge part of my high school career. I was on the varsity team all four of my years in high school and it taught me how to work with others as well as push myself to achieve. Under the influence of my wonderful coach, I was able to go to the Regional meet with my relay team. The High Q team, though we are small and not as good as the other schools, is still a fabulous way to spend one's time. We compete against other schools in a Jeopardy style game and create a safe and loving atmosphere for the nerd-outcasts of our school. To my dismay, we elected an inadequate president for our Creative Writing Club and we have since disbanded. However, while there, we established meaningful friendships and were able to provide guidance on the style and grammar of each member's fictional pieces.
