1). If you want to go to a school where you are able to get to know your professors and they can get to know you, go to Allegheny. Allegheny College is a small college of 2,100, sp the class size is small. This means that there is never any room to hide in a class, and your professor will get to know you not only as a student, but as a person as well. 2). If you want to go to a school that not only gives you an amazing education but also a education about the community you live in and the rest of the world, go to Allegheny. Every year Allegheny College has annual themes that they focus on. This coming year is the Year of Meadville, which is the town that Allegheny is situated in. The goal of these annual themes is to expose the students to the many communities they belong to, and how they can help better them and be a productive member. 3). If you want to go to a school just for the 'college experience', DON'T go to Allegheny. Going to Allegheny is more than a college experience, it is preparation for the rest of your life. Sure, you're going to go to parties and experiment, meet new people and have tons of fun, but you're also going to be faced with trials and hardships, face new lows and new highs. Hopefully, if you attend Allegheny, you will discover new aspects about yourself that you never knew and will graduate stronger and more prepared to take on the world.

There are so many wonderful things about Allegheny that it is hard to just name 3 reasons that someone should attend. First of all, Allegheny creates very well-rounded individuals because of its requirements to take at least two courses in Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences. Second of all, this school has professors that are really more like peers and friends that teachers. There is always time to talk to them if you need help or have a personal problem. Thirdly, there are so many opportunities at this school. The extracurricular activities and clubs are astounding because they cater to the needs and interests of a wide range of people. Allegheny also has a strong connection to the town of Meadville, PA, which makes the college a part of the community family.

  1. Our faculty is top-notch. I feel incredibly close with my academic advisors and professors, and I believe that they would do anything to help me succeed. It is great having such a small student body.

  2. The students I talk to on campus are for the most part the most tolerant people you will ever meet. Even if they disagree with something you say, chances are that they would fight to defend your right to express your opinion.

  3. The campus is beautiful and historic. While the buildings are fairly modern inside, the exteriors of many of the buildings still look like the campus could be in the 1800s.
