I attend the college of pharmacy at USF. I would say that the average student is very dedicated to learning and passionate about a future in the medical field. Students are very diligent and generally well spoken as patient counseling is vital to the career field. Asking the introverted or extroverted question is a difficult one to answer in this setting as you do have a very mixed crowd in a pharmacy program. Pharmacy has a lot of specialties and it appeals to a broad personality type.

Anonymous, Student, University of South Florida-Main Campus, Class of 2015

We have more than 30,00 students, so everyone fits somewhere. But you should enjoy meeting lots of international students from around the world. You should be willing to put yourself out there to meet new friends, in classes, in the dorms. You should be willing to try new things. But you do have to be a bit of a self starter, willing to manage your time. In a University this big, there are LOTS of opportunities for almost anything you want to do. But no one really holds your hand. Lots of people will help, but you must start the search yourself.

Anonymous, Student, University of South Florida-Main Campus, Class of 2018

Most people at USF are pretty laid-back but we still are into our studies. We like to have a good time but still know when we need to buckle down and make sure our grades are still top-notch. "Club lib" is the epitome of a USF student, studying while still enjoying the company of a hundred other students on the first and second floor of our library. Studying in Tampa just makes the overall vibe of our school really enjoyable.

A typical USF student is open minded, hard working, and interested in other cultures and pursuing large goals.

Anonymous, Student, University of South Florida-Main Campus, Class of 2018

That's hard to say. USF is a research one institution so there are a lot of science majors, and a lot of students from other countries. There are a lot of opportunities here to pursue your own interests: whether that be cultural studies, clubs, volunteering, etc. You just need to be willing to take that step. USF is not a place where fun things and rewarding activities fall into your lap. You need to be willing to take a step to do that. But USF is also a very friendly campus and there are a lot of resources available if you want to be successful. On a lighter note, being a beach bum doesn't hurt.

A USF student is first of all someone who has a bull pride, meaning an active student on campus that loves USF in general. The student will most likely cheer for any tournament or event for green and gold bulls. What really makes USF a great university is the willingness of each student to follow the "Commitment to Honor"code that is highly promoted at USF. This commitment is applied to all aspect of the student body on campus whether its research, intramural sport, studying, and leadership; the commitment to honor allows USF to stand out from other universities. Students looking for a community that bases itself in honor and respect to each individual should really consider applying to it. The university may be a big place but it is in fact a small community with caring staff, students, and professors willing to help you succeed at what you do best. This is what a student at USF is like : a student committed to honor, leadership, and success.

At the University of South Florida we don't have a typical student. It's a great school because it is so incredibly diverse. We get people from all over the country and all over the world. My freshman year of college I had three roommates; one from Massachusetts, one from Venezuela, and the last from Vietnam. The type of person that should attend USF is the kind of person that likes to be surrounded by people of different cultures. It's a very awesome thing and one of my favorite characteristics of USF.

Anonymous, Student, University of South Florida-Main Campus, Class of 2017

A passionate, hardworking, goal-oriented person. Everyone I meet at USF is very ambitious and has the dedication to pursue their dreams.

Anonymous, Student, University of South Florida-Main Campus, Class of 2018

I don't really think there is a 'typical' University of South Florida student. Everyone I have had the chance to interact with have all been different in their own ways. They each have their own personalities, interests, and aspirations but the one thing that makes us all the same is that we are students and when one of us needs help with something, no matter if it is school work or just life in general, we are there to support. University of South Florida doesn't really have a 'type' of student that should attend. As long as the individual is hard working, and motivated they will fit right in with the diverse environment USF has to offer.
