NYU has a ton of great resident halls! You can choose from many different type of living. If you like being closer to campus, having amenities in the building or having a view, there is something for you!

You can find a list of all the Resident Halls on NYU's "Explore the Residence Halls" website.

The most favored residence hall for freshmen are the following:

  1. Third North- Located in the East Village and just a 10 minute walk from campus. Students love the 900+ student dorm that never has a dull moment! You can find students in the dance studio, piano rooms, and a mini-theatre during their time off.

  2. University Hall -Located right in Union Square, you are located close everything in the city! With the University Learning Center located right in the building, getting a tutoring and acing a class couldn't get easier. You can also get a delicious burger and shake at NYU's famous Burger Studio!

  3. Weinstein- Who wouldn't want to live where Def Jam Records was founded?! With two dining halls in the building, located right in the middle of campus, and piano rooms in the sub-cellar, Weinstein has been a long time favorite on campus for first year students!

Enjoy your first year!

I loved the Greenwich Hotel. It's off the beaten path, doesn't feel that student-y, and the location in the West Village is amazing.
