The great thing about UNR is that there is a spot for everyone. The campus offers a variety of clubs for people to participate in. In high school, personally I felt like I knew a lot of people but I wasn't part of the popular crowd, and UNR allows you to find a place on campus where you feel most comfortable. If someone is interested in sports, they could join a club sport. Personally, I am an economics and finance major, and there are economics and finance clubs, as many others which go hand in hand with majors. Overall, most of the students on the campus are friendly and approachable, which makes it easy to make new friends in classes.

Typically they are either from California or Las Vegas and came here strictly because Lake Tahoe is 30 minutes up the mountain. A typical UNR student says "Hella" every other word and they wear camo and leggings where ever they go. We brave the snow and endure the desert heat while still finding the audacity to complain that Tahoe is almost 30 minutes up a huge mountain. Even though we came from a high school 7 hours away. We have over 7 ski resorts within 45 minutes of the university and most students take to the slopes every winter. If some one loves desert dirt biking and mounting snow boarding, than UNR is perfect for them.
