How early can a child be diagnosed with autism?

Signs of autism can be detected as early as 6-12 months, but most medical professionals will wait until a child is at least 18 months to make a formal diagnosis. However, children vary and some behaviors may not emerge until children are toddlers or even in elementary school.

I would definitely recommend being in touch with a pediatrician to discuss.
