The typical student I would say are kids who are kind to others and are generally smart. There aren't that many kids I have met who are really mean, so most students are very nice.

Anyone who would want a spirited school community with involved parents and ambitious students who are academically motivated, taking advanced placement courses, and involved members of the community, participating in volunteer work and extracurriculars, should attend Carlmont.

The typical Carlmont High School student is an individual. Our school does not fit one specific stereotype. We have students coming from a wide range of cities, from East Palo Alto to San Mateo. A typical student here is engaged in school spirit, our football games are very popular social outings although our team is not stellar. Although you do not have to be driven in order to succeed at Carlmont, many students here are passionate either about their classes or extracurriculars so being a driven student would help one to assimilate into Carlmont's population very easily.
