Like I hope most campuses are, its a judgement free zone. There is no typical student at Umass Dartmouth, there are many different types of students. Every student is unique in his or her way, in this way students reflect on the campus in their own way they see fit. Outspoken can be one way to describe our Umass Dartmouth Society. We protest, we get together and we argue but in the end we are one living and functioning organism that shares happiness and sorrow. It might be our perfectly size campus that allows habit to spread so quickly.

The type of person should be one that is used to and or capable of living in a busy environment. Although UMD is not considered a large school, it is considered to be medium sized and there is always some event going on as well as a very busy atmosphere.

Everyone I have met on campus, and just in the town, are all incredibly nice people. I was worried that I wouldn't know anyone because I am from Colorado. But everyone here as ensured that I feel welcome and they are all very social and open to new friends. Academics are a large part of the campus and it's nice that other people are as invested in school as I am, but we also can let loose every once and awhile and hang out.

We really have a large variety of kids. There is a nice international program and there are also a lot of local students. Then there are those that transfer in, like me! The students really do range from slackers that just want to party to people that take their work very seriously.
