A typical UIUC student was either a party-loving jock, or aspiring engineer, of the computer science persuasion.

A typical U of I student was dedicated in high school. The student would take priorities in mind and also not be afraid of failing in something that they did. This is because the student could learn from their mistake as well as realize that there are many people around them to learn and seek help from. A smart, creative, and innovative person should attend to this university, and it doesn't have to be all these traits together, because everyone is different. However, what makes this university great is that there are hundreds of different people from different part of the world. So in other words, you should attend to the U of I if you are open minded and believe that there are many people like you and also many people different than you.

A typical student will take his or her studies very seriously. Academic dishonesty is not an option and you will be severely punished for cheating or plagiarizing. Every student is very kind and generous and willing to learn and teach others.

Someone that attends the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign should definitely be active. The campus is huge and takes biking, walking, or just busing to get around. But that doesn't mean those with disability aren't welcome -- it's definitely very accessible. But an open-minded and diverse student is the typical UIUC student.

The University of Illinois student should be well-rounded. A person that is ready to take challenging courses and ready to study hard to attain their degree. The school is not all studying though. A student should also be ready to be social and meet lots of new friends.

Illinois students are outgoing and friendly, they work hard and party harder. The community is academic until there's a football game, and then everyone drops their work to tailgate!

It's hard for me to say that there is a typical student here are U of I. There are very different types of students who attend the school in a social and personality aspect, which is great because if everyone was the same then it wouldn't be very interesting to go here. Everyone does seem to be pretty outgoing and social for the most part. The students here are very smart, that is for sure. UIUC is known to be a prestigious school, so for students in high school that are looking to attend here should have good enough grades to be recognized by the school. Students should have good study habits, and tricks that helps them keep up with everything in college. At UIUC students are treated as adults as they should be. High school students need to be prepared to take on such a life changing experience into adulthood, and to be able to take responsibility for everything that they do. I believe this is for most colleges and not just the university of Illinois. I think that anyone could attend if they really put the effort towards it.

The people I have talked were always people who had worked hard in high school. There are many who didn't seem to be too invested in academia in high school. However, many of them work hard now in college

We are all different; UofI is one of the most diverse institutions in the US. However, the Americans mostly come from Chicago, and the International students mostly come from Asian countries. Overall, we are all very smart and talented. #coolnerds

There is no certain type of student at UIUC. It consists of a diverse student body from international students to out of state students to the local in state students. It is true that a large chunk of the students are from Chicago suburbs area but it is really easy to find different kinds of students. Similar to the student demographics, the type of person that attends UIUC also varies. There are people who are really outgoing and go out every week, as well as people who like to stay in for a more indoor and reserved lifestyle. It really depends on the person. I feel like as long as you studied and worked hard enough, you are able to attend UIUC.
