The top three reasons someone should attend UF are the fact that we are one of the highest ranked schools in the nation, with some of the best professors and students, the fact that we are also ranked one of the best party schools, and the caliber at which each student is held to here.

Anonymous, Student, University of Florida, Class of 2017

If I were to give you a list of the reasons students should go to Florida the list would never end. One of the main reasons students should come to the school of orange and blue is because we have some of the best professors in the nation. Students will find themselves in challenging classes with professors who are willing to help you and want you to succeed. Another reason a student should attend classes here is because we are ranked number one for the rowdiest football games in the nation, and also I mean Tim Tebow went here. The gator games are unlike any other I will say, I definitely underestimated my first one and couldn't hear anything the next. Lastly, students should come to this school because we have one of the friendliest campuses in my opinion. Everywhere I go I make a new friend or two just by asking a simple homework question or bonding over a common hate for Florida State. This school has given me my best friends and future bridesmaids along with setting me up for a bright future in medicine.

Firstly, the University of Florida (UF) is a well-established university and is among the the top public colleges in the USA. (UF is also very affordable in comparison to most other top colleges.) Secondly, it is a land-grant research university where a lot of funding goes into big projects that can be of great resource to both undergraduate and graduate students. Lastly, UF is a very diverse university with students and faculty from all parts of the world. Gatorland is one of the best breeding grounds to meet minds of great intelligence. Go Gators!

  1. Prime education at an affordable price. With a staff full of professionals from around the globe, students at the University of Florida get the opportunity to learn from perspectives unique to UF and those teachers. In addition, the rigorous admission process and the high standards put in place by the school assure that your peers will only push you toward greater academic success. Many universities around the country will offer similar benefits, but the cost is doubled if not tripled. The affordable price of UF makes it possible for the students to receive an excellent education without accumulating debt that will take decades to pay off.

  2. Home is University of Florida. While many students come to the University of Florida with their friends from high school or childhood, many more of us decide to come in spite of knowing no one on the campus. BUT DON'T BE ALARMED!! There has never been a campus that is so kind to new students as the University of Florida. I went to a high school where everyone knew each other and where we had to abide by a strict honor and conduct code. Because of the high standards, everyone was nice... or so I thought. The student and teacher population at UF have made me raise my standards as to what I consider kind. Every student and teacher is so welcoming and helpful. The immensity of the student body and campus is completely irrelevant when it comes to human interaction. People make friends at crosswalks, the laundromat, the floor halls, GatorNights, and on the walk to class. Anyone who would love to feel accepted (which I is safe to assume is all) would feel feel right at home and never neglected at the University of Florida.

  3. The world becomes your home. It is said that home is where the heart belongs. While our campus is our home and house, our hearts will feel at home wherever we go because the connections made with the students and teachers are everlasting. The bond is not only among students from Florida or even the United States: the bond is among students from around the world! From Latin America to Europe to Asia, our student body is incredibly diverse and united. Unlike other schools, race and ethnicity don't divide us but only make us more united. Students should attend the University of Florida because regardless of where you go, you will always have a home and feel safe knowing that not only will you always be welcomed back at the University of Florida, but you also have a support group around the globe.

The University of Florida is an accredited public institution that is an age old institution in Florida. It has many opportunities that could benefit many people. Firstly, the University of Florida is very prestigious in scientific advancements. Though half of its student body is undergraduate, a large majority is graduate and PhD candidates who strive to learn more about the world through research. A social example of this is the development of Gatorade. Researchers at the University of Florida created this energy drink to help the football players balance their electrolytes while playing in the extreme heat of the Florida Sun. And now, most professional athletes endorse and use Gatorade products. This is just one example of the research and advancements that the University of Florida provides its students. Secondly, University of Florida has excellent professors. I know most institutions say that, but I have learned so much through many particular professors who have taught my classes. The drive that some teachers have is just unfathomable. And their drive is to help students learn, which I find to be completely selfless and giving. Lastly, the University of Florida is located in a wonderful area. Gainesville, Florida is a quaint and busy area that is home to so many things. From the historic downtown where you can find presumptious hipsters and artistic endeavors such as the Hippodrome Theater, you're bound to find something for everyone. The college campus has so many food and social opportunities, from trivia nights to hookah lounges, there's always something to do. And Gainesville also maintains a love for the environment. There are many paths and trials and parks that surround the local area so there is no lack of flora and fauna. The University of Florida is a great place to go to school, academically as well as socially and environmentally.

The top reason is that our academics are the best available in the state of Florida. I have been involved in two different research labs here as well as been pursued by multiple companies who would like me to work for them simply because I attend the University of Florida. The second reason is the huge student body. With so many people, there are bound to be hundreds if not thousands that share almost any interest you can have, so making friends and learning more about your hobbies is a breeze. Lastly, the weather! In the great state of Florida it hasn't snowed in over a decade and what more could you ask for than being able to walk to your class in shorts and a t-shirt for more than half the year!

This question is easy for me. Opportunities, people, and spirit. UF has so many opportunities for scholarships, internships, and studying abroad. They put the effort into helping students find ways to get into the game long before they ever thought possible. I have a friend who is a freshmen, and is already shadowing a doctor at Shands Hospital. You meet amazing people who are all going in the same direction as you. They are all looking to be their best, so it also challenges you. Plus, all of the teachers and staff are super nice! Lastly, I didn't have a lot of school spirit in high school, but UF changed that. Going to football games and basketball games with your peers really makes you love your team more. Plus, seeing all of the alumni tailgating just shows you that UF is more than just a school. It's a family.
