Houston Learning Academy (HLA) is a year-round, private high school serving students in grades 9 through 12. When students need a flexible, personalized approach to high school, HLA can help them graduate. Our six schools offer a full array of accredited, transferable high school courses during the day, in the evening, and throughout the summer. HLA schools provide a safe, supportive learning environment with individualized instruction. HLA supports students as they prepare for post secondary education, college, and future careers. HLA's dedicated faculty members direct students to complete the required high school credits necessary for graduation by helping them master the essential educational elements of each course. More than 80% of HLA graduates go on to college! HLA's typical school day is four and a half hours, allowing students to earn their high school diplomas while having more time for extracurricular activities. This unique half-day program also provides students the opportunity to graduate early and jump-start their college or professional careers.
Private schools, including parochial and boarding, are funded through tuition and fees. The cost varies from school to school, but most families pay tuition to attend them. Many private schools offer financial aid or discounts, so it's worthwhile to ask about these options.
