Sequoia Christian Academy was founded in 1997 by Roberta Hunter in order to provide an educational program for the families of Delano and the surrounding areas, that encourages student growth: spiritually, morally, physically, mentally, and socially. The academy maintains high academic standards, offers reading remediation, individualized instruction, a sports program, educaitonal trips, a missions program, and much more. Sequoia offers programs and services for children and youth from all racial and ethnic backgrounds and is accessible to people from all walks of life including the poor, disadvantaged, and those with special needs.
Private schools, including parochial and boarding, are funded through tuition and fees. The cost varies from school to school, but most families pay tuition to attend them. Many private schools offer financial aid or discounts, so it's worthwhile to ask about these options.
