Nature Immersion curriculum infuses natural science across all curricular areas, including the arts. NSA students receive daily science instruction at all grade levels and extend their learning off-campus with monthly "EdVentures" to natural areas, museums and cultural venues. Although highly academic and rigorous, NSA education professionals use homework in moderation preferring instead to have students do the bulk of their work at school. Instruction often involves assignment of projects and deep, authentic science investigations rather than being worksheet driven. Teachers rely on many kinds of assessment to inform instruction other than just state test scores to allow students to demonstrate their level of mastery. Small class sizes and highly trained professional educators provide support and challenge to NSA students.
Academic achievement through study and exploration of the natural world.
Public charter schools are supported through lower levels of direct, public funding, as well as though private subsidies. As with district public schools, they do not charge tuition to students who attend them.
