The most popular extracurricular activities at Richmond-Burton High School are definitely playing football, participating in the school's community service program, P.R.I.D.E., and engaging in the drama and theater department, whether through acting or set building, lighting management or prop organization. Out of the abundance of extracurriculars offered at Richmond-Burton High School, I would recommend joining the school newspaper, as it is not widely known about, but is indeed an important factor of the student body's opinion and ideas. Moreover, I believe if someone sets his or her bar high enough, joining the National Honors Society is extremely beneficial. However, if one is not as involved with their schoolwork and grades, participating in the school's Psych Club proves to be both exciting and may even intrinsically motivate students to seek further educate themselves.

Football is a very popular sport at Richmond Burton, our whole town is at the game every Friday night. Cheerleading is also a big extracurricular activity, of course it goes hand in hand with football. Another popular activity is volleyball, our school is very supportive of all these activities. If I were to recommend any of these, it would be cheerleading. I Cheered all through highschool and I think the sport helps people come out of there comfort zone and test there limits. Cheerleading had made me more of an outgoing person.

P.R.I.D.E, student council and sporting activities. I would recommend participating in and sports at RB because all the coaches are super nice and truly care about the students who are participating and it helps bring people together who normally wouldn't.

Football, NHS and cheerleading seem to be the most popular. I would recommend NHS because it is such a great experience to see what actually goes on in the community and golf, because you can play it your whole life.

Our most popular extracurriculars are FootBall, Men's Basketball, and Women's Volleyball. Those are all very nice but I would recommend joining our theater program. Our Drama instructor does everything she can to help better the students and make it so they have plenty of experience if they wish to further they're drama experience outside of school. And even if they do not wish to do so, the instructor makes sure you get the same amount of experience and fun. No one is left out and the theater program is a huge family. Another extracurricular I would recommend is Math Team, here we also have another good instructor. He arrives to school at 6 in the morning everyday and leaves at 4:30, so there is plenty of time to learn and help better yourself and the team. Our team has been the only public school to place at state for the last 9 years in a row, and I believe that it is exciting not only to be able to say that but to be a part of it. Everyone one contributes to the team and not a single student is left out.

The three most popular extracurricular activites at Richmond-Burton are football, WYSE, and volleyball. As a previous track participant, I would recommend trying out for that team. WYSE is also a resourceful extracurricular, since it expands your knowledge in the general high school subjects, will prepare students for the rigour of college, appeals to college admissions, and is extra training for tests like the ACT and SAT.

At Richmond-Burton, football and cheerleading are the most popular after school activities. If this is something that would interest you, I would recommend it. We typically place well in both areas state-wide. However, I would also highly recommend our school's Math Team and WYSE (Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering) Team. We have placed in the top ten state-wide for the past ten years, when competing (as a 740 student high school) against schools like UChicago Lab Schools and other private schools in the area. We are consistently the highest ranking public school, and work very hard to earn our place at the top.
