In all honesty, a typical J.W. High School Student would be one that is of low to middle-income and lives in the city. The athletics here are great, but the academic performance in average is not so well. The average ACT composite is a 17. Many students are 1-2 years behind their math classes, and there is little interest in taking advanced courses, thus offering AP/accelerated courses here is very rare. However, if one should try and work hard, then he or she shall prosper at J.W. Sexton High School. There were a few students who received high standardized test scores and a perfect 4.0 GPA.
