They are bold like a Viking. Basically, that's also the the punch line of the college. "Be Bold, Be a Viking" and students are like that.

The type of person that should attend Hudson Valley Community College is anyone. The typical HVCC student looks like a single mother who only has time to take 1 night class a week. The typical HVCC student looks like a 65 year old man who wanted to try his hand at improvisation, to bring a little excitement back in his life. The typical student has no idea what he/she wants to do with their life. All they know is that education is a good place to start.

Hudson Valley students are somewhat unfriendly, people that attend here are very focused on getting their two year degree and moving onto a four year school. I think most people are focused on academics and bettering their GPA so they can go to a more prestigious university.

Hudson Valley is a great place for a student trying to figure out what kind of career or area of study they want to get into. I think most students there know they want to go to college for whatever reason, but don't really know what they want to do.

If you're into the "go to class and then drive home" routine, hudson valley is the place to be. You go to your classes and then head home or you're able to sit in the center or the library and wait for your next class. If you're someone that is challenged in any subjects, the help center is incredibly helpful, especially the math department. There are tutors offered and most professors take their office time to help their students.
