Student, Pueblo West High School, Class of 2016,
Everyone living in the Pueblo County radius seems to think that the students attending Pueblo West High School are nothing but a bunch of spoiled, stuck-up, rich, preppy teenagers. But in all reality our school is the lowest funded district in all of Pueblo. Sure, our sports teams and academics are better than the rest but even then, when it comes to playing other teams, they usually come out on top. The standards at PWHS are at an all time high. You must be on your toes at all times because the principal and the teachers are hard on you and the rules are strict. There's not too much you can get away with at this school. There is no room for leeway either. The type of person you'l see walking the halls of PWHS is taking three IB classes and four AP classes. They're competing for the top spot in their class and if he/she isn't an athlete than it is because they do speech and debate and sing in choir. We take a lot of pride in our band and choir here at the high school. And the speech and debate kids are pretty much athletes to everyone. At this school everyone is determined to reach the top and everyone is watching you at all times so there's no room for mistakes. They can make or break your reputation at PWHS.
