Describe the type of student who should not attend Portland State University and explain why.

Anonymous,

Portland State University is not the school for someone looking for a traditional college experience. Most people don't live in campus housing, and a lot of people live in surrounding cities and commute to school. Not everyone is traditional college age either; your classes will have everyone from 18-year-olds to middle-aged single parents to senior citizens auditing classes for fun. So if you're fresh out of high school and looking for the typical college experience that you've seen in movies, PSU isn't the place for you.

Students who are unable to attend classes and unwilling to succeed should not attend Portland State University. Also, students who do not like living in the city, and would rather be in a traditional college town, should not go to Portland State University because it is in the middle of downtown of a huge city. It would be hard to enjoy this college if a student did not like constant activity and loud noises.

If someone is afraid of acceptance, love, fun, freedom, opportunity and growth, PSU is not the place for them.

The type of student that should not go to Portland State University would be someone who is unmotivated and is unable to pursue their degree with the best work ethic possible.

Students should be open and accepting/tolerant of differences; that is, if a student is racist, classist, close-minded, etc. then they should NOT attend.

Students who are just going to school to say they did. Students who do not care about other students and the fact that they need to study
