Student, Suncoast Polytechnical High School, Class of 2016,
A typical student at my school is someone out of the box. To attend my school you must apply by submitting an essay explaining your reason for acceptance. Most students who apply are not "typical" or "normal", they are determined, smart, and driven to be successful. Bullying is not a big issue at our school, which I'm very proud of. Our out of the box students are very accepting towards each other and it's a very intimate, family type atmosphere. The student-teacher relationship can be as close as the student prefers. The teachers are very open to communicate and guide the student to success as the student allows. Students, in my opinion, compared to other students I've interacted with from other public high schools, are much more willing to do the work to get the grade. We take pride in our work and strive to challenge ourselves once we've mastered a skill.
