The top thing to do for fun at Drake is to hang out with friends. No mater how far away you are from home, your friends can always pick you up and make that homesickness disappear. The next two things would likely be heading into Des Moines and eating good food.

Participate in on campus events, the student body is constantly engaging in activities offered by the college and various student organizations on campus. Each Friday the Student Activities Board puts on a "Free Movie Friday" where they screen a recently released film as an alternative to drinking. It's a great alternative activity that offers a theater experience, complete with popcorn, for free on campus.
Drake students are frequently found on the quad, studying outside, playing Frisbee, and lounging in hammocks between classes. During April we host the Drake Relays, which is easily the most fun activity and time of the year for Drake students; watching Olympic athletes and world record holders on the blue oval, pole vaulting in the mall, and attending the beautiful bulldog pageant. Bonus all events are completely free for current Drake students.
