Yes. You are exposed to many different types of cultures and persons, which makes it a learning experience outside of the classroom!

I would recommend attending Walt Whitman high school because of the unique experiences a student can have there. For example, I don't know any students from other schools that can say that they have ridden a giant bull on wheels throughout the entire school! Also, the student population is incredibly diverse, and the teacher population is very passionate about what they teach. They are a group of individuals who have all left their mark on me, whether big or small, and shaped me into the calculus loving, literature appreciating individual who can't decide what to major in at college because my interests vary too greatly.

I would absolutely recommend attending Whitman--compared to the other schools I've attended, the student body, activities and academics are the best. There are seemingly limitless opportunities to connect within the community, through the various clubs, unique classes and school-sponsored events. Above all, of course, is the friendly atmosphere that I felt from the minute I stepped in the door the first day of freshman year. It really is a place where I can feel at home.
