Clubs! For a small community college, we have tons of clubs. I am President of the Exploring History Club and we do just that. Last year, we went on a field trip to Gettysburg, PA and Antietam, MA to visit the battlefields of Gettysburg and Antietam. It was an awesome experience seeing how huge the battlefields actually were! The Museums and exhibits were also fun. We also have other clubs like Video Game Club which most people love where we bring in consoles and play different games. One day we had Super Smash Brothers and had 6 people playing at once and took breaks.
Our student council also puts on performances such as movie night, comedy show, magic show, and much more. It's fun when you get involved, which I try to get everyone to do. I've met some great people from attending these events and I hope to meet many more.
One of my favorite days is College Day where different colleges from the New England area come and have their own table where you can speak to representatives of their college. It's amazing because these colleges are here and are saying "we would love to have you!" and it is an amazing feeling knowing that universities appreciate and understand those who attend community colleges first. I speak to almost everyone and make sure I hear everything they have to say because maybe I find another school that I might apply to.
