Student, Hall High School, Class of 2017,
At Hall, many students are interested in clubs such as Empty Bowls, Link Crew, and Lead By Example. My high school tends to be a very college oriented school, so clubs which are focused on community service and helping other are most popular. In no way is this a bad thing, but rather than people who are looking to help other, you will find those who want to help themselves. I would recommend Community Service Club, Circle of Friends, and Sign Language Club. In my experience, when you go to the less advertised clubs, you can truly have a positive effect on anyone around you. Community Service club has opened me to opportunity to help people at any given time. I would get emails almost twice a week about new ways to help people in need. The volunteer options would differ from sorting school supplies for donation to helping previously homeless people move into their new home. Before entering Hall, I was told the best way to make the most of a high school experience is to join many clubs. I chose to join Sign Language Club due to my interest in Speech Language Pathology and working with deaf and hearing impaired people. Going to that club once a week allowed me to meet fantastic people and learn about sign. Although these are the three clubs I would suggest in general, the more closely related the club is to your interests, the more of a positive impact it will have on you.
