They would be very diverse, with a sense of adventure and tolerance to new cultures. Some one wanting to attend my school should have an open mind.

The typical SFSU student seems carefree and unburdened. This is odd to me, being from Southern California, but it appears that is the norm in terms of demeanor in the northern part of the state. If a student is very laid back and not very "intense" (that is, not very outgoing or flamboyant, but still driven and motivated).

Someone who embraces diversity. A person who is excited about their education and living in a city with a lot to offer

People who are open minded who don't care about how a person looks or what other people's sexual orientation might be. You should be very tolerant of the many quirks people have, and most importantly you aren't a bigot.

A student at our school is typically very open-minded. I find that most of the students become very passionate and proactive when it comes to situations of inequality and discrimination. Most students I have encountered have been supportive and helpful in every way. We're a community on campus. There are sooooo many students, but we're all in it together.

One of the reasons why I knew that San Francisco State University was the school for me was because of its diversity. I don't think that there is a "typical" San Francisco State student and that is what I love! Most of the students whom I've encountered are hard-working and eager to make some sort of change through their major. Other than that, students at this school are so different--economical background, religion, ethnicity, political views!

We always wear layers because the weather changes often due to the ocean. I haven't had my first day yet but it seems that we're quick to make friends and don't mind trying something new.

Describing San Francisco State University as "progressive," means that this campus favors implementing social reform and new, liberal ideas. The SFSU website states that, "alumni are known world-wide as agents of change, creative artists, activists, inventors and company founders. Once a student at SF State, always a leader who is engaged and innovative." For example, in 1968, students lead a five month strike that demanded equal access to public higher education, more senior faculty of color and a new curriculum that would embrace the history and culture of all people including ethnic minorities. A typical student at SFSU values innovative social and environmental reform that exemplifies American's Constitutional rights. He or she sees both the present and future in urgent need of the inception of alternative solutions for a just and harmonious life.

The typical SFSU student goes something like this. They are somewhat athletic, artsy, and also a bit of a brain. This transformation tends to happen to everyone who attends. SFSU loves diversity. Anyone can and should attend if they want to learn more about other aspects of the human identity. I have gained quite the knowledge about people. SFSU is green and modern. Our library (J Paul Leonard) is a glass box. I love studying in there. SFSU is awesome for anyone. It is eclectic in all the right ways and who wouldn't want to live in one of the best cities!

San Francisco State University is no that big. You can walk across the whole campus in ten minutes. Therefore, maybe a person who does not like to walk a lot will like the smaller university. Also, many of the class sizes are fairly small, except for a few big lecture rooms. Mostly, the weather is gloomy, so this school is perfect for those who like to wear sweaters and grab a warm cup of coffee in the morning before going to class.

Since there is quite a diversity, there isn't really a molded "typical student" at our school. Everyone should attend San Francisco State as it is one of the biggest commuter schools on the West Coast. It adds to the diversity, and adds even a little more color to the city as it's wonderful to be here!

It's a small, close-knit community on campus. Everyone I've encountered has been open, friendly, and passionate about their course of work. I've also noticed that the students there are very invested in helping one another. There's a "we're all in this together" feel to the campus. Students that go there should have these attibutes. If a student is hoping to get lost in the shuffle, this is not the campus for them.

San Francisco State University students are mostly international students. Those who enjoy commuting should attend SFSU because that is how most of the college students are getting around. A typical SFSU student is like any other student. It's quite impossible to narrow it down to what kind of students should attend here. My school has so much diversity in both ethnicity and personally. I've met all kinds of people and they're all so different. Although, one common thing that most students share is to get a degree. Someone who is serious about their education and is able to manage time between work and play is the type of person to attend SF State.

Laid-back , does there own thing and thriving to pursue a higher education at SFSU. But there should not just be people that fit my description since then we would all be walking around like zombies and midterms and finals aren't near! Variety is what makes university a fun experience since everyone has there own personality but most if not all are trying to better themselves.

A typical SFSU student goes to class everyday and they would always be at the library because it is a good place to be at. At the library, you are able to do homework, hangout, and sleep. A person who likes peace and quiet is a student who would like to come to this school because there are not a lot of events that are on campus and most of the students here are not here after certain hours. There are not a lot of people walking around on campus around 2pm because most people just go home right after classes.

San Francisco State University is a commuter school. Most of the students that attend SFSU live locally so most of these students are focused and rather comfortable with themselves. Every one carries a light sweater because of the strange Bay Area weather and drivers are bitter because they spent 45 minutes looking for parking. Most students are approachable but unless you're a freshman, you're no longer looking to make new friends. All the freshman wear their dorm keys on a lanyard that hangs around their neck and they smell like the brick walls that surrounds them in Mary Park. If they're from Southern California, they came up here with an open mind and tan that disappears through out the year because of the cynicism that San Franciscans spread. Overall SFSU students are a okay.

A student that attends San Francisco State University is not very different from someone who attends any other California State University, other than the fact that there is far more diversity among students at SF State. In general, the typical student is very open-minded and is not afraid to step out of their comfort zone and try new things. Since I have been a student at San Francisco State, I have learned more things about myself than I would have if I had attended a school in my home town.
