If I had the choice, I would recommend people to attend Norte Vista High School because of how it has impacted and changed the lives of many students. The school used to be ranked one of the worst high schools in the state of California and has now recently moved up from that rank. The school offers several programs and extracurricular activities for students to take part in. These activities and programs have all encouraged them to continue their education and has also encouraged them to give back to their community. Several graduates come back each year to make a difference in the new generation of students. They give advice to them on how to apply to scholarships and what to expect later on in college. The school is also unique for their friendly staff and the relationships that the students build with them. Various amounts of teachers enjoy assisting and speaking to their students. Many of them have built great relationships with not just one but several staff members. They have the opportunity to learn from an adult that has probably gone through the same situation they are currently facing. Norte Vista is a high school that can never be compared to any other. Everything that the students and staff work towards to each day has helped the school become a much safer and comfortable place.

I would strongly advise that no one attend Norte Vista High School. There was a teacher who was not even qualified to teach an AP class and they didn't realize it until February. The teacher's students were all failing their classes and not surprisingly they probably all failed the AP Exam. One of my AP teachers even admitted in the last month of school that he wasn't preparing us at all because he knew that we were not close to being good enough to pass the exam. Not surprisingly, I failed that AP Exam. I had a teacher who was going to retire the year after and decided to make the class super easy and barely teach us anything. What a wasted period where I could have been learning something else from anyone else. When I would attempt to speak to a counselor about any of my concerns they just would brush me off. There was even a counselor so much worse. I attempted many times to participate in sports but I who is not very sporty felt left out and no one would even try to make a strong connection with me. The students are mostly jerks, which is probably every high school but my gosh you wouldn't believe it. The IB program is pathetic. It feels like any other class and because I was doing Diploma I had to take all these classes that would show that I was well rounded? No exceptions. So I never had room to take any classes I actually wanted to take like AP Environmental Science which actually applies to what I want to major in. Worst school ever and that is why I left and are now going to Hillcrest High School.

Yes, I would. This high school offers rigorous programs and classes for the elite, practical classes with certification offered, and basic classes. Not only is the education at a high standard, but the clubs and environment has the ability to make any student comfortable and optimistic about coming to school. Not to mention the faculty who truly value their jobs and students.

Though, I like Norte Vista because they offer good program that prepare you for college to students that can get in them but there are higher ranking high school in California that I would rather recommend someone that should enroll. I feel there are other schools that focus more about each and every student's future, they want them to become successful and ready for life after high school. Personally, I have not made a connection/bond with any teacher so far because some teachers at Norte Vista seem to not care.
