Three very popular extracurricular activities at Ironwood High School are marching band, FBLA, and media club. I would highly recommend DECA and the choir program. I am currently the President of the Choir Club at my school as well as a member of the advanced a Capella choir, Excelsis. In Excelsis, we are expected to perform gigs, compete in festivals, and learn more music than the other choirs. As president, it is my job to run meetings, schedule events, and lead the club in club fairs. The choir program is amazing at Ironwood. Last year, Excelsis received two superiors at our Jazz/Madrigal competition in Flagstaff, Arizona. I work hard every day to make the choir program the best it can be. Another club I would recommend is DECA. DECA is a business, entrepreneurship, and marketing club. It targets future business leaders and public speakers. It teaches applicable skills such as problem solving and time management. DECA is the perfect club for any motivated and bright student.

The top three extracurricular activities at Ironwood High School would be definitely jazz band as our top most popular. This after school activity is about showing our school spirit and dedication to playing wonderful music in competitions or storming the halls. They work the hardest by marching in Arizona weather and practicing for hours a day to get where they are. The second most popular would have to be art club. Talent from this club is literally everywhere around our school, whether it be in the halls, outside, or in the gyms. The students range from art 2 and up and create murals, paintings in the halls from famous artists of all time, and the themes for every homecoming. Last, but not least is our *swim and dive team. * They are a group of boys and girls who participate in school competitions. They do laps after school for three hours at a time, practice dives on the diving board, and perform many different exercises. The best part of being in this team is the reward of finding what you are capable of.

What extracurricular activity would I recommend? I would recommend the art club. The atmosphere in the art room is always very lively and free spirited. You are given everything needed to create something magnificent and unique. You are rewarded with seeing a finished masterpiece that everyone gets to see. Everything you do in the art club is an accomplishment. Every line, brush stroke, or touch-ups are another way of saying you are an artist. If you see any piece of art, know that you have the capability of creating something just as great, or better.
