There are many reasons as to why a person would choose to attend Duquesne. Narrowing the great qualities of Duquesne to three is a hard feat. The main three reasons as to why I chose Duquesne was the diversity of its population, the low cost of tuition, and the location of the campus.

One of the best aspects of going to Duquesne is being in an urban setting. There is always something to do and so many opportunities that come from being in the heart of the city. The teachers are really caring as well. So many of my professors go above and beyond to make students succeed. At the same time, the academics are challenging enough that you know you are receiving a great education!

  1. The flexibility and convenience of taking courses online, on campus, Saturday's or combination.

  2. Spiritual growth. I feel that being a student at Duquesne University, I not not only connect with other students and faculty on an academic level, but also on a spiritual level. As a Christian, I feel comfortable and that I can be comfortable in my own skin.

  3. Affordable, yet academically challenging. Duquesne University holds higher weight than most university's especially in it's surrounding area. At Duquesne, students are challenged academically, however, the curriculum prepares to server students as successful professionals in their careers. The value of the education that you will receive from Duquesne is worth the cost of tuition! Duquesnse also offers assistance to help students and families meet their educational goals by offering financial aid, work study programs, assistantships and payment plan options.

The location which is the best of living in a city while being slightly removed so it doesn't feel like it unless you leave campus. The school is connected with different businesses and organizations in the community so there are plenty of great opportunities to volunteer and get internships. If you're looking for a science based program, the professors do lots of research in well equipped labs with the opportunity for students to get involved.

One of the reasons someone should attend Duquesne is it's academic reputation. Duquesne is one of the better schools in the greater Pittsburgh area and it provides an excellent atmosphere for learning all around the campus. That ties into a second reason that someone should attend Duquesne, which is its unique setting within the city. Although it's located right in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, its campus on the hill - affectionately known as "The Bluff" - gives it a less intense city vibe while still providing the access to the city atmosphere that a school like Pitt has. A third and final reason someone should attend Duquesne is its fantastic staff of professors and campus workers. They provide a warm and inviting atmosphere for all students, all while encouraging students in their academics.
