Student, Suncoast Polytechnical High School, Class of 2016,
I have been apart of the National Honors Society, Student Council, & participated in Yearbook club throughout my high school career. You do have to be invited to join the National Honors Society, but with good grades and a healthy amount of community service hours you should be on the invite list. Being with the society has been a great experience as we aspired to volunteer to a local organization a few times a month. The relationships I made with the students and teachers were also a much added bonus. The yearbook club has to be another favorite because I never thought I would have so much fun taking photos of my peers and collaborating with a team of students putting together this final product. It gave me a lot of satisfaction to work really hard on something and being able to physically see a finished product. I also gained many skills I never would have gained prior to my experience in the club that will serve be as an advantage in my future. Student coucil gave me the ability to connect with all sorts of people in the school in all different grade levels. Although my school is small and it's hard not to know everyone, I found a way to communicate to a group of people I never thought I could reach. I felt we made a lot of positive changes to the culture of my school that made it more of a integrative experience. I would definitely recommend these clubs along with many other offered at Suncoast Polytechnical High School.
