Women's colleges have been coming under some scrutiny for their admissions policies regarding trans students. What are the arguments for or against accepting trans students?

There are also several single-sex institutions who have welcomed and embraced transgender students with open arms. I can't speak to an argument against accepting trans-identified students, other than some nod to tradition or outdated binary notions regarding sex and gender. I've been lucky enough to have little experience with today's students excluding their trans peers, so it seems less likely to be coming from that population.

The issue is one being played out on coed campuses as well, in terms of housing, restrooms, athletic teams, locker rooms, student organizations, and more. I believe with time, institutions will be informed by how popular culture is becoming more informed and accepting of transgender community members.
