Las vegas is a city that has numerous amounts of addictive tendencies that can consume someone entirely. Therefore UNLV it is a place for someone with great aspiration and able to balance the las vegas life and the life of a student with strict responsibilities and deadlines. But also an individual who enjoys the hot weather with a lot of nature inspired activities.
A very relaxed person who wants to focus on school but also make a living afterwards and during their time at school. Since the cost of living is so low in Las Vegas there is so much more work available to enjoy the environment and what Las Vegas has to offer such as the strip and the great hiking trails in the mountains along with snowboarding and skiing. Most students are usually confident and stress free and enjoy what they do and really show it.
The university of las vegas is one of the most diverse schools when it comes to ethnicity. From what I have seen a lot of students are party goers (when they have time), If you prefer a hot climate with city-life you might like UNLV.

This breeds students who have a determination to get through some of the most uncomfortable challenges to past the trials that any college or university will bestow upon a student. I do not believe there is a "typical" student demographic. UNLV is quite a diverse school. Not only are ther e various minority groups, there are also a vast amount of international students. Also, one sees older adults in classes as well as teenagers.

A typical UNLV student is very open-minded. Realistically speaking, I cannot say all are compatible with one another. However, a majority of the student body is very helpful to one another. Everyone here is very curious, not the nosey curious, but curious of the different cultures we all come from. A student from UNLV will most likely have a high interest to travel and learn not just one way of looking at things, but understand an abundance of ways. It's one of the reasons why UNLV is deemed one of the most diverse univeristies in America! Students here are genuinely interested in learning and participating with other cultures.
The diverse population of students we have at our school makes it very difficult to describe your typical UNLV student. They're very sociable because of the amount of tourists in town and international students as well. People who love being around people should attend this school. There are so many different opportunities to meet people here. Also, UNLV is known for its hospitality program for those who want to pursue a career in the hotel and restaurant business. Can't forget to mention people here in the spring or the summer must be willing to take the heat!
Honestly I believe the type of person that attends UNLV is an honestly a good person that wants to better their life through education. A UNLV student is also fun and easy going, we live in “Sin City” we have an acceptance and tolerance of many things.

UNLV is largely populated by local students, it is a great example of a commuter school that takes students from all walks of life. There is a strong international presence felt in our engineering and hotel-management colleges, and the dorms are a strong indicator of their numbers on campus. However the typical student is a valley born, loves the sun, relaxed type of person who is going through university for any reason from owning their own business to helping their parents out financially by gaining a degree. We have a strong showing of diversity in our campus, and I don't think there is any one type of student who should attend.
Outgoing, and ready to learn. People are pretty connected to everyone. It's super easy to make friends here, and it's useful to have someone to help you out with notes and such.
Mature, a lot of the students here are in-state, and most of us that attend here would go out of state, but for cost reasons, we stay here. There's this mne·mon·ic we use for the students that attend here, "Ur Never Leaving Vegas (UNLV)."

There isn't really a 'typical' University of Nevada, Las Vegas student. The University is extremely diverse in culture and people. There are people of many races, religions, and ethnicities who attend the University.
I have not began attend yet but the people that I spoke to that does seem really laid back, friendly and open to new people and things. If you are interested it's best to be open to joining different clubs around campus and socialize!
UNLV is super diverse when it comes to its students so thats hard to say, but if I had to describe one type on person that should attend UNLV it would be someone who dosen't mind the heat, someone who is accedemically self driven and someone who has a game plan as far as their college carreer goes.

I can't say that there is a typical UNLV student. Coming from a city like Las Vegas, I know that all of our schools are diverse and in my public school career I have seen all types of people, all types of religions, and all types of personalities. This is not much different for a place like UNLV, which is not only home to people from Vegas, but also for people across the U.S. One thing is in common with all of these students: the clothing. With the hot long summers the typical attire of a student is shorts and a t-shirt and these people can be seen running from the shade to the comforts of the air conditioned buildings.
Las Vegas is a place for active and engaging people with a lot of energy. I am in the Hotel College, which is entirely focused on service industries. Students need to be able to respond to a barrage of stimuli with consistency and professionalism in order to succeed in this school and in the industries it prepares them for. They also have to be fun and adventurous. People from all over the world come to Las Vegas to have a great time and to be entertained. A dull personality simply will not do.

This campus is extremely diverse. We have students from China, India, Africa, France and all 50 states. Anyone can go here. Everyone is so welcoming and helpful when you're just starting out here. It's avery large commuter school so the locals know what is going bon in the community and such. There's not one main type of person that attends UNLV.
If you fun and ready to live the fast life. We are very focused on school work but when the weekends come we put it to the side and party like a rockstar. We get good grades are fun and outspoken most of us. UNLV students are involved in curriculum activites and support our school in what ever events are occuring. We all work hard to get our degrees but we have fun when we do it.

There is not a single picture I could paint of the students at this university as many of us come from different walks of life as well as many students that are transferring to Nevada and not having a deep or rich set of roots in Las Vegas. The students at my school are adventurers and are not nervous with new situations. They are relaxed and stressed all at the same time. The typical student here enters with an idea and overtime watch that idea morph under the experiences they accumulate and this is their growth. In a simple term, they are seedlings, looking to grow.
