Manhattan College has so much to offer. When I chose this school to transfer to I knew I had made the correct choice. For starters, Manhattan College is located just a subway ride from Manhattan! New York city, only one of the best city's in the world. Okay, maybe I am being a little biased but can you blame me.? Even though we are located in Riverdale, The Bronx, Manhattan College feels like the peaceful part of New York City. The area is calm yet with an urban twist to iy. Being a few stops away from Manhattan is amazing because we have access to pretty much everything like Broadway shows, Central Park, Williamsburg, Time Square, and all the great attractions of New York City. The second reason that someone should attend Manhattan College is because they offer so many opportunities. For example, as a bio major they offer to do research over the summer and even get payed for it! That might not sound exciting for everybody, but its definitely a job that I am interested in. They also provide us to any internships available to us. Not just to biology majors, but to every major offered in our school. They also have this amazing program called the L.O.V.E Program which I am planning to apply for. The L.O.V.E. program stands for The Lasallian Outreach Volunteer Experience. Its an experience not only to do community service work but you get to do the "social-justice travel experience." Its a great way to provide for a good cause and get to travel to other states and countries along the way. My favorite overall experience at Manhattan College so far has been studying abroad this summer in Spain. I got to go for five weeks and take two classes. Not only did I learn so much about the culture, but I really grew as a person being on my own for that long. Manhattan College offers endless countries to study abroad in. Its an experience I recommend to everyone. Lastly, the third reason I believe someone should attend Manhattan College is because there is always someone willing to give a hand; let me elaborate on that. Switching my major to Biology last semester was hard on me. I really struggled taking Calculus, Chemistry, and Biology simultaneously. Little did I know there was so much help being offered to me. Along the semester I became best friends with my professors who were always willing to stay after or set up a session for me if I was confused about anything. They also have their great tutoring center where you make appointments with tutors for an hour that can help you with any subject. On top of it, I made friends who were always willing to help me out because that is the type of students that attend Manhattan College.
